Cape Town Mapping Project

I was born on the 17th November 1996 at Summerset Hospital in Cape Town. I am the youngest child of 2 children; I also have a brother age 31.  My mother was born on the 18th March-  she was not born in a hospital, but at home in a small town called Elsies River. My granny and her mother were both born in Oudsthoorn. I am a Aunty of 2 (Fagon 4 and Christan 11).  I speak two languages English and Afrikaans, and I am fluent in both of them.

My career goals are to be a civil engineer and have my own company.  I also want to build my own house one day.

What I do for fun is hang out with friends and go out. My friends think I am funny, but somehow I don’t see myself as a funny person but rather shy. My hobbies are playing sports like netball and softball, and I like hockey, but never play it.  I am soccer supporter (yes, I support Manchester United), but I hardly know what off sides means. I eat any foods but not foods that have mushrooms in them.

My name is Edmund. I am from Cape Town and attend Oude Molen Academy of Science and Technology in Cape Town, South Africa. My interests are cars, sports (mainly hockey, cricket and soccer), school, gaming, reading, and I enjoy food. My career goal is to become a qualified mechanical engineer- and, to get there requires a lot of hard work, dedication and determination. It also requires me to stay focused on what I want to achieve in life. I am originally from Cape Town, and I was born and raised here, as were my parents, and my parents, parents. My mother’s mother came from P.E. (Port Elizabeth) another city in South Africa. I speak two languages which are English, my first language, and Afrikaans, my second language. I can understand a Xhosa word here and there, probably like one or two words- literally!

Ok this is my life .

My name is Esgak.  I'm a Oude Molen learner and my life is full of hardwork, and I am determined to make a success of my life.The religion I follow is Islam, and I was born in South Africa on the 22 March 1994.  My likes are mostly sport related: athletics, touch rugby, and soccer.  And, how can I forget my food, kfc, pizza and my all time favourite Gadsbies.  My parents are both from South Africa and the career I would like to pursue when I am done with school is civil engineering.  That’s my life in a nut shell.

My name is Gareth.  I was born in Cape Town but lived in Pretoria for two years. My parents are from Cape Town and Pretoria, my grandparents are both from Cape Town, and my bloodline is one third Italian and one fifth Russian. My career goals are to go into the field of architecture or electrical engineering. My major interests are reading, science fiction, and drawing, and my favourite activity is playing computer games. I am fluent in English and Afrikaans and I am learning how to speak Italian. My hobby is building and making miniature models of a table top game called Warhammer 40 000.

My name is Jéan and I am 16 years old. I live in a small neighbourhood called Garden Village, where everyone knows everyone. My hobbies are playing video games- especially the ones that contain sports. My career goal is to become an architect, mainly focusing on skyscrapers. I really love cricket, and I am a youth leader. Both my parents and grandparents are originally from Cape Town, and my great-grandfather was in World War II.  Otherwise, I am not too sure about my ancestral history.   I do not like taking pictures- I would rather be the photographer.

My name is Ruchen and I’m from Cape Town. Both my mother and my father are from Mannenburg, but we live now in Thornton.  My ma and pa from my Dads side of the family lived in Cape Town, but they were not originally from there.  My ma and pas from my mother’s side lived in Mannenburg, but were also not originally from there. One thing I can say, is that all of the family members I mentioned are originally from Cape Town.

My interest is soccer, whether its playing or watching. I enjoy hanging out with friends and going out.  I play drums which is a very fun instrument to play.

I am currently at Oude Molen High School and the engineering subject I am studying is mechanical engineering.  My career goal is to study mechatronics after school so that one day I can become a mechatronic engineer. I like to play xbox, and also enjoy going to church on Sundays.

I am Zepherinus and I am a student at Oude Molen Technical High. I am passionate about hip hop soul. I enjoy a variety of music and would like to be known as versatile.  I enjoy spending time with friends and family, and I am very keen on meeting new people.

My name is Jason and I live in Cape Town, in Athlone. I have lived in Athlone for as long as I can remember. It’s a welcoming area, everyone is warm and loving.  It is more of a Muslim community, but even though my family and I are Christians, they respect us and we respect them.  My family enjoys nature, and we love going on long drives. The sports that I enjoy are soccer and rugby.  In my spare time, I like to play mind or strategic games, and I go to the Academy of Science and Technology, at Oude Molen.

My name is Robin, and I am from Kenwyn.   It is a nice place to live- it is very peaceful and the people are kind. My hobbies are fishing and hanging out with friends . My family is very kind and they are happy to help with problems.  I am currently in the 11th grade at Oude Molen, a Science Academy for Science and Technology.
