Cape Town Stadium

Cape Town Stadium, also known as Greenpoint Stadium, was built for the Fifa World Cup held in South Africa in 2010. It was the location of a variety of matches throughout the tournament, most notable of which was the semi-final between Netherlands and Uruguay (I was there.). It has a capacity of about 55,000 people, for football matches. The stadium is now also used for large concerts, and it has hosted bands including Linkin Park, U2, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Kings of Leon, and Cold Play. It has also hosted solo acts such as Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga. The biggest event at the stadium to date was the U2 concert with over 72,000 people! The Stadium is currently home to the football club Ajax Cape Town, the daughter club of Ajax Amsterdam.
