Milton Caldis- founder of the Hellenic Football Club

Milton Caldis was born in Greece and came to South Africa to work.

During his time at Hellenic Football Club, he was vice-chairperson, treasurer and a liaison between the team and the Board of Directors. Mr Caldis also played for the team, and captained the second team. He was part of the delegation that went to West Berlin to negotiate the transfer of players to Hellenic. He also organised many of the social events that the club held, such as the annual ball. His favourite memory was winning the league title in 1971 against Pietermaritzburg.
