Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden

Kirstenbosch is a famous botanical garden at the foot of Table Mountain in Cape Town.  It was founded in 1913 to preserve the country’s unique flora. It was one of the first botanical gardens in the world with this ethos.  The garden includes plants from a number of different regions, including savanna, fynbos, karoo and others.

Kirstenbosch regularly exhibits Zimbabwean stone sculptures and other art sculptures in the garden.  And, it has many different kinds of animals, like guinea fowls, sunbirds, golden orb wed spiders and other animals.

Kirstenbosch holds Summer Sunset Concerts every Sunday from November to April. It is a perfect picnic spot where people relax and enjoy the music.
